This coming Monday at the Jazz Cellar www.noworchestra.com presents The Coat Cooke Trio http://www.coatcooke.com/coat-cooke-trio (with Clyde Reed on bass and Kenton Loewen on drums).
The band hasn't played in Vancouver in four months so it's a great time to hear them after a tour to Mexico [img_assist|nid=256|title=Coat Cooke Trio (Steve Bagnell photo)|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=640|height=425]that was a resounding success (the version of the band that went to Mexico was a slightly different one with the amazing Dave Chokroun joining us for that trip as Clyde Reed had other commitments and couldn't make the trip).
Among this group's strengths are a near telepathic communication in their improvisations. They also abundantly use what Clyde Reed calls the cheapest trick in the books....dynamics. They're a band with real depth.
Come and hear the latest show in our fall series.
Hope to see you there.
